1. ㄱ ( 기역 / giyeok )
과자(gwaja) = Snack
고기(gogi) = Meat

목소리(moksori) = Voice
막걸리(makgeolli) = raw rice wine ( korean traditional wine )
In this case too, it's pronounced as 'k'.
모음 앞에 'ㄱ'이 오면 'g'로 발음되고, 자음 앞이거나 글자 마지막에 오면 'k'로 발음된다.
When 'ㄱ' comes before the vowel,
it is pronounced 'g',
If it comes before the consonant
or at the end of the letter,
it is pronounced 'k'.

2. ㄴ ( 니은 / nieun )
나(na) = Me
나무(namu) = Tree
나라(nara) = Country

3. ㄷ ( 디귿 / digeut )
두더지(dudeogi) = Mole
다리(dari) = Legs

받침대(batchimdae) = a prop / a support / holder
돋보기(dotbbogi) = Magnifying glass
When a consonant comes after the final consonant 'ㄷ',
it is pronounced as a double consonant.

해돋이(haedoji) = Sunrize
맏이(maji) = Firstborn
In some cases, if the vowel comes
after the final consonant 'ㄷ',
it is an exception that is pronounced 'j'.
Hangul is often pronounced differently
by combining consonants and vowels.
