Vowels are written from top to bottom, left to right.

 

If you divide the person who is standing into left and right sides, it becomes 'ㅓ, ㅕ' and 'ㅏ, ㅑ'.

 

If you divide the land into top and botto, it becomes 'ㅗ, ㅛ' and 'ㅜ, ㅠ'.
